The Fifth Floor was founded by Petra Gale — an operator with twenty years of experience across hospitality, wellness, and services on three continents.
She opened her first business at 22. Learned marketing, branding, and operations from the inside. Moved to Ireland to study fine dining hospitality at its most precise. Was recruited to manage a full beach operation in Croatia — three restaurants, three bars, a food court, a nightclub, 250 staff — as the only woman at the management table.
She moved to New York with nothing, returned to the floor, earned a partnership in a failing restaurant, rebuilt it completely — brand, website, menu, hiring, ops — took it through Covid, and exited for multi-six figures in 2024.
In between she built an eco cleaning company, ran marketing and branding for restaurants, and opened The Body Lab Studio in Brooklyn — earning organic press in Vogue, Marie Claire, The Cut, and Who What Wear without a single paid placement.
